The WhatsApp connection drops on every restart
QR pairing, credentials kept on disk, and messages relayed to the agents.
The problem
The agents needed a WhatsApp connection that survives restarts and does not get the server’s IP banned.
What I built
A small TypeScript service on WhatsApp Web (Baileys, unofficial): QR pairing, credentials persisted per session, one SOCKS or HTTPS proxy for the service, and reconnection that stops on a real logout.
Technical details
- SOCKS or HTTPS proxy, set by one variable
- No infinite reconnect loop on a logged-out account
- 848 lines, single purpose
Stack
- TypeScript strict
- Node.js
- Express
- Baileys
- Supabase
The result
One service serves two products with different databases, without duplicated code.
