Built in
The same product, two languages, two prices shown
A bilingual store built by script, with every price checked by a test.
The problem
A Quebec manufacturer needed a bilingual store where displayed prices are always right, because in Quebec a price mismatch can breach consumer-protection law.
What I built
Catalogue, pages, policies, market, translations and theme are pushed by an idempotent script against the Shopify Admin API, with a full dry-run mode. A Playwright suite checks the prices on screen against the live product data, in both languages.
Technical details
- Zero-dependency Shopify GraphQL client with cost-based throttling
- Diff-based theme deployer: pushes only what changed
- 28 end-to-end spec files on 5 device profiles
- Meta Pixel add-to-cart events fixed so they no longer fire twice
Stack
- Shopify Admin GraphQL
- Liquid (Dawn, extended)
- Node.js
- Playwright
- JSON-LD
- Meta Pixel
The result
The tests caught a price gap before Google could flag it: $299 in the data Google reads, $340 on the page.
